If you never believe in the sixth sense, or that some people can foresee the future through their dreams or intuition, then this real story of mine could probably change your mind.
20 some years ago, when I was living in Vietnam and was a college student, I had a dream about me going to the dentist for a checkup. The dental office was somehow located inside a hospital in which I had to pass by many sick people laying on their beds to get to. When I finally got there, I surprisingly saw my mom laying flat on the dental chair, with a huge awkward device stuck in her mouth. At that time, I didn't know what device that was and thought it was a dental device.
The next morning, I was getting ready to go to school to meet with my studying buddies, even though I had no classes that day. I just didn't want to study at home alone. My mom was gently scolding at me about my dirty feet that morning. I told her "No worries, Mom. I will stick them inside the shoes and nobody will even know about it :)" and she laughed 'What a faker you are!" At that moment, I suddenly felt so close to her and was thinking of cancelling my study meeting and stayed home with my mom. But, I still left.
That evening when I got home, my mom was not there, which was unusual. I found out that H., one of my brothers, drove her in a motorcycle to see an important person about our immigration interviewing schedule. She was so anxious to go to America. BTW, she has been visiting many relatives and friends in the last few days and returned the money that she kept for them! In Vietnam, things were not safe and they trusted my mom to protect their money.
We had dinner quietly that day. It was getting late, but my mom & H. still didn't arrive home. We were getting very anxious. Finally, at around 10pm, the police came and announced that my mom was in a serious auto accident and was staying in the emergency room about an hour away. We all were so shaken by that horrible news and immediately rushed to the hospital to see her.
When we got there, I saw my mom laying unconsciously with a huge device stuck in her mouth! Immediately, that dream flashed back: I was speechless. I saw this scene before. That big device in her mouth was an Oxygen machine now that I knew it. My God, I could have saved her, but I didn't! I could have stayed home that day to be with her for the last time at least! I had difficulty breathing having that thought. My mom died shortly that night. She was barely 56 when she passed away!
To this day, many other dreams of the same kind have occurred and some even involved my own accidents, but I couldn't stop any of them. My mom probably had an intuition about her leaving this world, and that was very likely why she returned all the money she kept for people. All I could say is that fate might be real & if so, it is so powerful that we can't really change it even though we know it in advance.
I love you dearly, Mom, & still see you often in my dreams. Please watch over us all. We still need you.
